- Our Summer program is off to a great start!!! We have kicked off our first School Age Summer Camp at our Holmesburg location. We have one slot remaining. The children are already having an amazing time with Miss Nichole! This week they have been exploring oceans. We also had our first visit to the Philadelphia Insectarium for our 8 week Jr. Entomology Program. What an amazing experience!!!
We have started our 100 Book Challenge across the entire program. Be sure to read everyday with your little one and record each entry using the link below. This is a great opportunity for your children to begin to grow their love of reading and books, a foundation for school success!!! There will be a wonderful prize pack given out at the end of the challenge!!! https://goo.gl/forms/Yr54YlTe8Yh6yH2K3
Splash Day Update: We typically have Splash Day every Monday. With the temperatures rising into the 90's over the next few weeks I am concerned the children will not get outside for their daily play yard times. I am asking for the children to have their splash day items with them daily. on Monday's please still send your child to school in their swim clothes, including shoes that can get wet. Don't forget the towel and change of clothes, including shoes. On the other days I am asking for the children to bring a towel, shoes that can get wet, and bathing suit with them to school. You can leave it here and take it home if the children get wet. My hope is that on days where the heat index soars to the 90's, the children can still get outside with a little bit of water play. Please see me or your child's teacher if you have any questions at all.
We will be exploring some great Summer themes over the next few weeks, including Snakes, Gators and other Creepy Creatures, and Weird and Wild Week, then Beach Week. So many fun activities to look forward to. Be sure to keep an eye out for any special classroom activities on Himama or Remind.com.
I am very excited to announce that we received a wonderful curriculum grant to upgrade our curriculum and teaching strategies. This is such a great opportunity for our program to provide amazing experiences for your children and grow and develop our existing curriculum and teaching strategies. In order to effectively train all of our staff on the implementation of the curriculum and assessment tool we are participating in a two-day professional development on Friday, August 17th, and Saturday, August 18th. We will be closed Friday, August 17th at both locations. Our camp will still be open for the full day. Thank you for understanding as we work to provide exceptional early childhood education for the children and families we serve.
Thank you for all that you do for your little ones. You are truly shaping their futures...You are your child's first teacher!
